The Crimson-hooded Manakin is a Passeriforme of the family Pipridae.
Characteristics
It measures 11 cm in length. The male is crimson from the crown to the upper back and breast. The face and throat are orange-yellow and the remaining upperparts, tail and belly are black. The female is olive-green - greyer below.

Habits
Varia de incomum a localmente comum no estrato inferior de florestas periodicamente inundadas e várzeas, e em emaranhados de vegetação ao longo de cursos d'água.
Distribution
Presente em ambas as margens dos baixos rios Amazonas e Madeira, na região entre os rios Tocantins e Xingu, no leste do Pará e litoral do Amapá. Encontrado também nas Guianas e Venezuela.
